My brother Barry Graduated from Whitworth College today. He earned his Masters in Education. CONGRATS Barry!!!!! Barry sang and read from the scriptures during the ceremony he sang and spoke in Salish. It was the best and most interesting part of the ceremony but I may be biased. I am very proud of him and wish him well.

Today is Cinco de Mayo for any that have forgotten. We had a celebration at the school I attend, E.W.U. There was music food and face painting for the kids. When I was in highschool I learned about Cinco de Mayo. I was told the French intended to take over Mexico they had many more soldiers and better weapons the Mexicans were expected to lose horribly. Yet, there was a big storm on the ocean and the French were not prepared for it and so the Mexicans defeated the French and celebrated yet only temporarily. The French in a couples days time re-grouped and came back to defeat Mexico. This may not be very accurate but that is what I recover from years ago. My teacher says that in Mexico Cinco de Mayo is not celebrated. People in the United States seem to make a bigger deal out of it.
My Dad recently got in a car accident. His story is as follows; he says he was driving and the wind blew up a bunch of dust he slowed down becuase visiblity was so poor. Then somone from behind rear-ended him and spun him around and another car then hit him. He has a broken hip, clavical, and several broken ribs. He seems to be doing very good and may be released tomorrow. It is kinda scarry seing your Dad so beat up but I am glad he is recovering so well.
